Hi, my sis is coming from US for 8 days along with her 11 yr old girl and 15 yr old boy and she said i should keep her away from all the malls and that she wants to absorb the spirit of hongkong....
would appreciate any advice on the places I can take them and things I can do with ...

Def Ocean Park.
If you do the big Buddha, make sure you go to Tai O as well, a lovely old fishing village, can take a short sampan ride there to see the pink dolphins.
Lots of hiking, walk down to Sai Wan beach in Sai Kung country park, have some dinner there.
or walk over the hills on Lamma and have dinner at a seafood restaurant.
Cinema.
Bowling.
Ice skating.

Also someone just told me today, that if you go to Lower Cheung Sha beach on Lantau, next to the Stoep restaurant you can hire kayaks and paddle over to a small island nearby, about a 30min paddle. I'm sure kids that age would find that fun.
