This is a complex area and form what you have stated, your relatives have DEFINITELY, breached their immigration conditions.....HOWEVER, the Immigration Department is not wholly unreasonable and IF you can convince them of the "honest mistake" they may allow continuance. ....you should take IMMEDIATE action....
