Hi..
I am aware that one has to spend 7 yrs in Hk to get a PR but have heard about some amendments to the same based on certain working segments where in it gets reduced to 5 yrs. Does anyone know more about it.
Also, does purchasing certain value of property affect the PR process.
app all responses,
thanks

I have heard if you purchase properties with value of HK$ 8 Millions then you can get the PR right a way.

No, you have to be ordinarily resident in HK for 7 years to be eligible for PR, not 5 years.
And you don't get a PR if you purchase property worth $8 million. You still have to be resident in HK for 7 years, like everyone else.
If you have money to invest (in either property or stocks and shares), you can apply for a Capital Investment visa). The amount of the investment to be made in HKG is $6.5 million, not $8 million. If you get one of these visas, after 7 years you may apply for PR.
