Hi tpequitas,

I get a Shanghai pedicure done in Power Foot - Sheung wan (very close to Central). Its not a fancy place the lady doesnt speak much English but does a fab job. They charge 200. But I guess its worth it, cos my feet need a lot of work as I wear heels all the time. PM me if you need further details.

Hey tpequitas

I'm in the same boat as you- I've made an appointment to see Angela at AngelaNail tomorrow (recommended by another Asiaxpater here- shes in between the Central and Sheung WAn area.) Will keep you updated on how its goes afterwards

can anyone suggest a good mani & pedi place, but not too expensive, in Happy Valley or Wanchai?

How about Causeway Bay near Time Square? I've been using her for 5 yrs now. Her name is Yan 6139-9555. She's very good and not expensive! Use good quality products...like OPI ..

I may have completely misunderstood this post, but - what's a shanghai pedicure? How is it different to a normal pedicure?

Thanks! Going to try Nude this week, I'm in dire need of a pedi! Moved to HK recently and didn't realize how expensive pedis can be here. So, I'm scoping out the places around Mid Levels and Central.

ManiPedi in Central (20 Stanley) has a first time special $298 for a mani and a pedi. The girl I had did a nice job.

JanetCat - Shanghai Pedicure usually does not have polish and involves meticulous scraping. Have not tried it yet but came across it in a NY Times article. I just may have to try it... but the one at Mandarin is pricey!

chillifontain - I called the # you had for Yan and there was a msg in Cantonese. Does she work at a salon? And how much is it for a manicure and a pedicure? Thanks!

Has anyone heard of or done a fruit/ citric acid wrap during a pedicure session? Not those kind where they said their products contain fruit acid tho.
