Can anyone recommend a good brand of bottle sterilizer? Or a brand that should be avoided? Thanks for your help.

As soon as you touch your "sterile" bottle it is no longer sterile. Clean, sure, but not sterile. It seems a very roundabout and time consuming way to clean a bottle. Save yourself the money. Washing with dish washing soap and water like any other dish, followed by drip/air drying, works just fine.
Sterilizing came about during big pushes in public health many decades ago. This was when most parents had no idea about basic cleanliness and kids died. But times have changed and modern hand washing techniques are more than enough.

i think after washing the bottle with soap, keeping bottle in boiling water for 10-15 min will sterilize it.

I used the avent steam steriliser with all 6 of my children, you get a pair of plastic tweezers (that you sterilise)for using on the teats.Make sure whoever handles the bottles washes their hands, and use pre boiled water. The bottles stay sterile only for so long after the sterilising cycle so check the instructions first. The water when boiled we put in a jug with a net over then when cooled put a lid on. The water needs using within a time scale, having said all this I breast fed as well so hot flannels and nipple cream. Good luck with your baby, you must be so excited.Sarah
