Lack of fun!!!!

I have been living near Cyberport for the last two years and I often go to the coffee shops near the grass area with my children. They often take scooters or balls to play with while I have a coffee and watch them play in the nice clean area. Yesterday whilst watching them play the management came and told me that scooters were not allowed, nor balls, nor roller blades. I could understand them cracking down on rules if the area was full of small children and very busy but it was really quiet yesterday. There are signs but they are quite small and not really where you would see them straight away. The manager that came over to me was really rude and very dismissive to my children which upset me the most. This is the closest green area for me as the park near to Bel Air is just full of dogs which my son is scared of and dog's mess! This is just a rant really, but rules are rules I suppose. Fun for children just seems to be getting tougher in Hong Kong if you don't want to pay lots of money on entrance fees for organized activities.

I know exactly how you feel. I could go on and on this subject for hours !! We've got some nice open areas in our building estate but the kids aren't allowed to do anything..no cycles, no balls, no scooters..nothing. And if they don't have any of these and are just playing catch then "they are making too much noise" !! It's such a shame ! I don't have the time or energy to take my sons out for organised activity every single day of the week !! It's ridiculous anyway ! We can't go out for a simple game of tag without having to travel for atleast 20-25 mins ! Even then there is no guarantee that we won't be stopped by a uniformed management security guard !!

Cyberport/Bel-Air is notorious for this attitude. I agree it is totally ridiculous.

they said kids make noise but what about dogs

in all over hongkong all management security guard they dont like kids but no matter of dogs

i hate this too we all want nice green area for kids
