My bathrooms have electric water heaters with a tank. I only get about 3 to 5 minutes of hot water, which is terrible for showering and baths (especially for a family of 4). I'm looking into converting the tank water heaters to an electric tankless water heater. Anyone have any experience with electric tankless water heaters in Hong Kong? Any suggestions on where to purchase and who to hire to install? Pricing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The tankless work great, both gas and electric. They are also cheaper to run. As for installation and pricing, I don't know.

Yes you'll need to have 3 phrase electricity supply to your property. If you only have 2 phrase ask CLP or Hong Kong Electric to see about converting it over. If you're lucky you'll be wired up to just switch over from one to the other but applying to get it done might take time. 3 phrase water heaters will cost about $2600 up (including installation). The store selling these heaters will normally have a recommended contractor that does the installation for them.
If your existing water tank is for example a 25litre one you can usually get up to 10 minutes of hot water obviously this is when you don't have the hot water turned 'full-on' when mixing with the cold. The water coming out of the showerhead isn't as powerful but at least you get to stay in the shower a little longer. IF you don't have a 25 litre heater, then consider installing one until you can have a 3 phrase one fitted.

Everyone - thank you for the helpful replies. Hong Kong Electric is coming in next week to review the electricity supply and recommend a unit. They apparently also sell the units and installation is included in the purchase price. Hopefully it will go well.
