PGDE at HKU - accepted in other countries?

I am applying to do a PGDE at HKU and just concerned whether or not other countries will accept this type of teaching qualification once we move?

I have applied to do the PGDE in English Studies which I und is focused on teaching Eng as a foreigh lang students but therefore also works quite well in the special needs/extra help arenas.

Various teacher friends of mine say it is quite easy to branch out once in a school (ie to biology teaching also) and its more about the experience rather than the qualification when applying for new jobs.

Is this the case in Australia? Many thanks for any advice you can give!

My principal told me that it can be used in other countries. I am also applying for the same thing. It only makes sense to do this program if I can use it in other places since I already have a post graduate teaching certificate in teaching ESL to adults. I would rather do a master's degree but this one enhances my salary as a teacher here and I am staying here for a few years.
