Where can I buy soundproofing curtains?

I'm looking for curtains which can block out sound (like the ones used in recording studios). Does anyone know where I can find that type of material? I've only looked in Ikea, but their curtains aren't thick enough.

Thanks!

not easy to find curtains, I looked everywhere for it 2 years ago when I opened up my piano studio. We did ended up ordering the foams that are for sound absorbance, they look like foam sheets shaped like eggs box (holder)..... you can order them from Hecom (Seahorse mattress store).http://www.sevensea.com.hk/network_en.htm

They were $ 10 per tile, so it costs us about $ 300 to cover one wall. Works fine.

Don't know what you need it for, hope this one helps.

We used those tiles for a wall between us and our neighbor and it's made little difference.

I think it depends what the purpose is for right? And the walls material? Ours is concrete walls between units, and because you can't depend on JUST that to soundproof a room, we have other things done to sound protect the room. For example, we MUST have a carpet under the piano, a thick one, it makes a huge difference. And then our doors and windows need to be sealed completely.

Between neighbours, much harder as the sounds doesn't necessarily come from one wall. Like my previous experience, the upstairs neighbours and next door made SO much noise all night long, and the bass of the speakers hung on their wall was booming over to ours.... nothing we did worked, we had to move out finally.

mothercricket, we DID, and it got SO ugly between them and us. They even purposely made MORE noise after the police left, so what could we do? Call the Police again ? How many times can you do that each night? It got so bad... we can hear the wife walking in heels upstairs, in our bedroom, as I was lying in my bed, I can hear the guy peeing in his toilet, flushing, then walk back to sleep... in the middle of the night. I can hear their music, alarm in the morning, talking but not clearly, just droning/mumbling .... it went over 2 years.... some nights were better, and sometimes they weren't home. Then I had it when they started to renovate their place, took over 8 months, and drilling EVERY day from 8:30-7:00pm.... I was pregnant then, had nowhere to rest or sleep, went back to Canada.... after I came back, I asked the management how much longer they took to renovate.... total it took them 13 months !

Other neighbours complain about them, but what's really the problem is there is no clear cut law about this kind of annoyance, no guidelines or strict rules, and the walls in HK's apartments are usually very very thin!

Now we moved to Clearwater Bay, house ... no one to bother us anymore. Thank goodness.
