I do not understand legal aid's interpretation of the law. On one hand cap91 of legal Aid Ordinance says that people with limited financial means should be granted legal aid. On the other hand Legal Aid does not accept debts despite the fact that the Legal Aid Review Committee advised Legal Aid to do so.
What is the purpose of the Legal Aid Review Committee?
Am I the only one with negative equity but denied Legal Aid? I have mainly only debts as most of the money is with my wife from whom I seek divorce... but to afford a lawyer is nearly impossible for me. Please advice.

Thanks Matt... the thing is I am broke... there is no property in my name... The only thing is that my debts are secured by my father... allowing me to keep assets. However, DLA regarded debts as 0 and counted the assets at face value.
I'm wondering if there were others who applied for Legal Aid but were denied because they failed the mean test having their debts being excluded in their computation of disposable capital.
