Hi, my daughter is 3.6 years old. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what are the right activities for this stage. The people around me are not very helpful but I do know that they are following some activities as I saw one friend's daughter wearing ballerina dress. I stay in Yuen Long district could you advise which are near.

Let me be honest, budget is also an issue so some that the pocket can permit. Thanks!

I want to give her lots of exposure but don't know how without spending a lot.

Don't feel pressured into paid activites at this age just because others are doing it.

Many girls at that age do ballet, (my own 2 girls did) but they soon got bored, its just a lot of skipping around. And be warned its expensive, especially as they progress up the grades, all the different costumes etc.

Both my girls preferred gymnastics.

But they really don't need many formal classes at this age, just organise lots of playdates, and trips to the park and the beach etc.

If you want them to learn another language maybe pay a local teenager to come in and play games with them and talk to them in that lanaguage be it chinese, English, German etc, and pay them a small fee, so that its informal and fun.

things to u can do for free:

swimming

bike riding

painting/ arts/ playdough

beading (girls absolutely loves it! and it can help trian her fine motors)

playdates with friends

movies

cookery

so like cd says, dun be pressure into doing paid activiites, there's loads to do with them. but there ARE some things that require paid instruction: musical instruments, gymnastics, dancing etc. there are many other dance options other than ballet which are less regimented.

Not really an "activity" as normally though of, but I would add walks/hiking. Just going to some wooded area and exploring is something all HK kids should get to do more often.
