I am flying from Singapore to Luang Prabang in Laos via Hanoi and have a 6 hour gap between flights in Hanoi Airport. I can't enter Vietnam because my single entry visa is not valid until I return to Hanoi a week later. I just need to know what the transit area etc is like in Hanoi Airport because if it really grim I will try to route through Bangkok even though it will cost me more to change my flight?

The Hanoi is quite a new and modern airport - I dont recall the transit areas but I would suspect its quite decent.
