Go to Club Med, it is the best for kids, even toddlers....

I always stay at the Holiday Inn when I go to phuket. Honsetly speaking it is not great for kids. It does have its own toddlers pool but it is tiny and other kids facilities are basic. However, they do have a rule that in the restruant if the parents are eating a full meal then the kids eat for free. My kids are grown up already but if you don't need the night atmosphere of patong then certainly Club Med or one of teh Laguna hotels should be good. I once stayed at the Alamanda, we had a self catering suite which opened onto a garden with a pool we did have the buffet brekkie included. You can also us the facilities of the other hotels in the Laguna area

Marriott is fantastic for kids, the best in Phuket i personally think - am sure Club med is good in terms of facilities but Marriott is an extremelly nice resord as well as kids friendly - not sory sure that Holiday Inn or Club Med are anywhere near as nice...

no - it is about 45 min to Phuket and 15 min to the airport. Beaches in Phuket are generally nothing to write home about - so i would not really worry about the beach so much. But they have a fab kids pool with a slide, excellent playroom. They have a deli where you can buy food to go, milk, bread etc - fantastic set up..
