UK Phone want to receive chinese sms

Hi,


I have a UK phone and i want to receive chinese sms without the text appearing in squares, is it possible to reset the software or get someone to do it for me so that it can receive chinese sms properly, but still is in english for the operating menus.


Any suggestions appreciated

Certainly on Nokia phones it is possible to flash the phone with a different region code which will change the languages on the phone. I have done this with Nokia phones in the past bought from MK with north european region product codes and using Symbian S60 OS. Local product codes usually support English / Trad Chinese / Simp Chinese. So menu's can be English while the phone has ability to display Chinese characters.


You'd need to search for your particular phone / model although if Windows Mobile then things are a damn site more difficult!

If you have a cable you can probably flash it yourself. Otherwise a store can do it for you. For example by the A3 MTR exit at the Wan Chai station, on the corner.
