I am wanting to legally change my name but my z visa and residency permit were made in my maiden name.
I will have time in the states to change my name and get a new passport but I was wondering what the process for getting a name change on the visa and permit? Will I have to go through the whole process again or can I simply show a couple of my marriage license?

As I was told by the immigration officer when I inquired, you must first have your name in your passport changed. After that, bring it over to the the immigration department for proof of identity. Then, you can have your name in your HKID changed as well. It's just as simple as that.
