Dispute of parking ticket on staunton street (close to Aberdeen junction)

Hi,

I'd like to dispute a parking ticket that states that "....there is a parking meter when the meter does not indicate that payment has been made..."

My reasons for dispute:

1) There wasn't any parking meter device where I parked

2) There wasn't any yellow lines.

3) Car wasn't obstructing way

4) Checked the closest juction to see if any signpost about parking restrictions or else. No signs shown.

Any recommendations on whether this is sufficient or any other area I should consider before submitting my case?

Thank you

--Phil

Tough one, but unless you parked in a park car or at a parking meter, you are ineffect parking illegally. All your reasons for dispute including "no yellow lines" does not mean you can park there, I got caught with this back in the UK.

You can try with the dispute, but I don't think you will be successful.

Pretty much all of HK is no parking except for designated spaces and car parks. I doubt very much whether you'd be able to dispute this ticket.

Thanks for input.

Then, that raises a question.....any points to have no lines, single and double yellow lines then??

When I was given my HK driver's licence I asked about kerb parking and was told that the singe unbroken yellow line indicated that a car could stop to drop off or pick up passengers. The double unbroken yellow line meant that no stopping was allowed except for buses at designated bus stops.

When asked where I could park was told "in a car park" or where signs indicated parking was allowed.
