Hi,
I would like to join the internet, however i do not want to commit to a 12/18 month contract.
Are there any internet service providers that can provide internet for a month/few months.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you're happy using wireless, you could try PCCW's single-device plan, which costs me about HKD 50 per month for my laptop. There is no contract period to commit to, which has worked well for me so far.
