I m searching here for "share a flat" - because I will move to HK (actually in Germany) - but what I see is ... hhmmm very very low, under the aspect of aesthetics.

Someone interest to work/cooperate with me to change this situation :) - maybe a chance for new business idea?

In HK, builders provide very cheap materials.

So quality is not so important compare

To low price and profit earnings.

Ex: all window glasses are very cheap glass,

Yougave to pay a lot to get the same quality than in UK.

Thanks for the messages, but thats not a reason, why the room interior looks so incredible messy ... what I miss is > style & aesthetic! Whether the rooms are small or not - its only fixed in your brain how you want to live.

Just a touch of furnishing that suits you will make a lot of difference as space in most flats are quite limited for you to alter ideally to big changes.

There are plenty of nice flats, but you have to look for them. Also it depends on your budget.

One thing I do miss is open plan kitchens. However with the assumption that helpers are in the kitchen and employers not, that's unfortunately a non-starter here.

What you need to look for is an apartment that has been renovated in "expat style". This means small bedrooms combined to make one larger one, refitted kitchen and bathroom with good finish, sometimes open plan kitchen... I have been house-hunting recently and have seen a few - but I think they go quite quickly so might not be advertised (or not for long).
