I'm due to move into my apartment on Tuesday. I checked it last week and found that the toilet didn't flush, the apartment still hadn't been cleaned (mold in kitchen, spills around bathroom, etc), and the door on the wardrobe was sticking and slide open properly.
After a long and intense discussion with the agent, they finally sent someone to fix the toilet and do the cleaning.
However, the agent says the wardrobe still works (ie, you can drag the door open) and that the landlord wants to check it herself when she visits Hong Kong in March before doing any repairs.
Is this reasonable? I think that everything should be fixed before I move in. It also makes more sense to fix the door before the wardrobe is filled with my stuff.
Should I push for it to be fixed or is this being unreasonable?

Definitely not acceptable. Those are pretty glaring flaws. Push to get it fixed. I would also go there every day, even twice a day, and call the agent after every visit to discuss. Be polite but insistent. If this is the attitude before you move in, you can forget getting it fixed after you move in. Definitely do not sign any inspection document as you move in.

At the moment, only the wardrobe doors still need work. But you are right that what I am concerned about is that I have to make a fuss to get even major problems (like the toilet) fixed.
