London Vacation

Hello,

I'm planning to go to London soon and my baby will be around 8-months old then.

Is London a very stroller-friendly city?

I've stayed there before but I always caught the Tube, and now I'm wondering how clean and stroller-friendly the tube is?

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay - ie. a part of town that's interesting, and easy access to the M1 (if that's possible...). I usually stayed in Camden Town with my brother and I can't recall that the Tube there was very convenient with a stroller...

i think it is pretty stroller friendly - you have to be prepared to "balance" the stroller on the escalators quite a bit! I would stay somewhere central if you can -so this way you can walk to a lot of places - somewhere around the Strand perhaps? Or depending on what you would like to do, sighseeing, shopping etc - stay either around Oxford st (tho not my favourite part of town at all) or down around Knightsbridge? Have fun!

You need to get a disabled access map of the tube, I lived there fior 16 years and just got back fom a trip and had forgotten how much of a nightmare the tube can be if you have suitcases.... not all stations have moving stairs and they don't always have the for between platforms or at the entrances to stations. The newer bendy busses might be better as I thing they have a lowering platform.....

Thanks for the advice - disabled access map of the tube sounds like an important idea.
