Can somebody shed a light on how to clean a steam iron? Clothes are stained yellowish when steam is used. Thanks.

Mix water and white vinegar in equal amounts. Fill the tank. Turn iron on hot and use the steam button until the tank is empty. Repeat with distilled water. Good to go.

Apart from cleaning, only ever use distilled water in he iron. Watson's distilled is fine.

Thanks a lot. One more question about white vinegar : is it the one for cooking?

Sure, that works. Get some of that cheap stuff at the supermarket. 10 Honkies for a bottle.

Check your iron - some have a self cleaning button which flushes water and steam through to try to clean out the gunk. Need to use distilled water. Might not be enough, in which case vinegar or iron cleaner is needed. (Don't know if you can get this in HK.)
