Hey all, thanks in advance- I was recently laid off in a fairly friendly way, however as I see it I am due a severance payment. I would, naturally, prefer to go through the process without a lawyer, and was wondering if any of you have any relevant experience- How helpful is the Labour Board, etc.? Can/ should I proceed on my own?

Thanks everyone, I sincerely appreciate your input. I am quite sure I am eligible, so next step will be a visit to the Labour Board.
Beancurd- Not entirely sure what you mean, if it is the point that any severance amount will be offset by my employer's MPF contribution I was there quite a long time and even with the offset the sum is worth following up on.
