HI,
We moved here a few months ago from Canada. I have a great job although it does take a lot of my time. Hubby is recently retired and is staying at home. It's wonderful to come home to a beautifully cooked meal, however I am worried about him. Can anyone suggest any men's groups? He likes discussing politics and philosophy. He really isn't too much into sports. He also is a handyman and likes woodworking...a hobby he cannot pursue here. Can anyone make any suggestions....are there any other men in a similar situation out there? Thanks in advance.

I know you said he doesn't like sports but if he can stretch to hiking there is a lot to experience here.
PM me with his email address and I can get him an invite to Internations, an expat networking website. Some members of the HK contingent regularly arrange evenings out, hikes, events and so forth. You can meet a lot of interesting people at their bar evenings. All walks of life and all that.
As for woodworking, perhaps he can find some small space to rent as a workshop?

Sailing - then purchasing a sail boat in need of renovation - then renovating it - then doing outboard maintenance course - then teaching me how to maintain my outboard. He will never be bored and you will never be rich.
