Hi
Does anyone know where to get a ski jacket and pants for a 4 year old. Also need goretex boots and gloves.
The shops I have been only carry ski wear for older kids.
Thanks!

Hi, we went to the Ice Festival in Harbin, January, with a four year old who did not get cold in minus 30.
We brought EVERYTHING from Stanley market. They had black ski pants to fit, we tried them on and the girl had him bend over to make sure they had enough room, she seemed quite knowledgeable about movement in the pants. I think they were around $200. We brought jackets, thermals, gloves, thermal socks the works. We outfitted 2 kids and two adults for three weeks in the snow and ice for around $2000.
We were also able to return one of the jackets and get a different size. I can't help you with boots, we brought those from a market in Beijing. Also, we did not ski, we were at the snow and ice festival - we brought the ski pants for the amazing ice slides, which were a huge hit with the under 8's in our party and well, the over 35's as well. The kids did not get cold, the quality seemed fine.
Walk down to the market past the Watsons. When you get to the main street of Stanley Market hang a left. A lot of the shops there have ski gear. Happy Hunting.

I also sent you a PM - sorry we've been away for a while.
We did find some pants and jackets at a couple of shops in Stanley. Not in the children's lane. You enter the market from the roundabout, walk to the end of the road (there's a shoe shop opposite where the road ends) and turn left, walk to the end of that lane and turn right. Towards the end of this lane there are a couple of sporting type clothing shops on the left and they have some ski gear. Kids ski pants were around $200, not sure how much the jackets were. They also had adult stuff.
Not sure how much they'll have left now. I think there are other shops there that sell ski gear so hunt around.
There are also some ski gear shops on Johnson Rd that have kids gear. I don't know their names but they're on the tram line. From the Wan Chai MTR I think it's a couple of stops on the tram (could be more). They're on the left hand side of the road. Again the pants were around $200, can't remember jackets. They also had adult stuff.
We also got some great gear at the GSIS flea market a few weeks back. They had ski suits for $50, ski jackets for $50 and pants for $30. I kitted out my boy for the next few years with these. If you could find out where they came from you might be able to pick up some really cheap stuff. Very little adult stuff though.
I could not find good gloves, hats or goggles for the kids. And boots we ended up buying in Europe as could not find anything in my kids size here. Good gloves and boots are important to keep the kids dry and warm.
