Every March this tree between the Ocean park and Aberdeen tunnel blossoms and there are hordes of people taking photos of either flowers or birds on it? Or something else on the flyover. they all have serious equipment - paparazzi would be jealous. and they just stand around quite often as if waiting for something? Birds of some sort? no idea - but now am seeing it 3rd year running - does anyone know what it is all about?

Been wondering about that too. I do think it is the flowers. Compare with the crowd in Hong Kong Park on weekends, taking pics of flowers.

Bombax ceiba (Bombax, Red silk cotton tree). Flowers briefly in spring. Flowers are often collected to make medicine.
