Feeling alone

This is very embarrassing but I can not talk about it with friends & family and I feel lost.


I just found out I have HPV that caused me venereal warts. The psychological impact is worse than the discomfort. On top of it, I may be pregnant & cannot find out until after 2 weeks, thus can not treat it.


In my whole life, I have only one partner, my husband. I know that he had a partner before me for 7 yrs (we're together 7 yrs now). I have accepted that. He swears he never cheated on me & I would like to believe him. The dr. said he could have passed it on to me years ago & there was no way to find out.


I am upset, in shock. We've been trying for a baby for months & the next 2 weeks should be exciting for me & not dreadful. Now I pray I am not pregnant. I don't know if I should be angry with him, blame him but right now I don't because I have no one else. I feel confused, ashamed, depressed and he is the only one I can talk to. He assures me & says sorry but I am afraid he is biased because he is the one who gave it to me.


Is there anyone who can advice me? with similar problem?

The doc is right. It could have been years ago and there is no way to find out. Find out all you can about your condition. and talk to your doc about all your doubts and fears. Knowledge is power. Anger and blame will not get you anywhere especially if you have a good relationship going. Its normal to be shocked, confused, angry and depressed. But see the big picture and work towards what you want.

Don't feel bad, I caught HPV from my first partner! My doctor told me its very common, hence the vaccination they created. Don't forget the link between this and cervical cancer, make sure you get a smear regualry (I had a dodgey one, that's how I discovered the HPV). I read something like 30% of all women have it so you're definitely not alone. Good luck with this, and I wish you whatever outcome is best for you. :)
