Teak, mahogamy, rosewood etc.

Any special or designated wood required for different types of furniture? Maybe taking the price into consideration?

Teak is good for outdoors. More resistant to weather. Otherwise it pretty much depends on what color and texture you want. All the wood types you mentioned are rather "premium". A cheaper wood would be pine.

axptguy, thanks for the input.

So for indoor long lasting furniture, it would be more appropriate either to go for mahogamy or rosewood, right?

Correct if I am mistaken, but I tend to think that the English like to use mahogamy and the Chinese rosewood.

Teak works great indoors too actually. All depends on the look and color you want. Personally I really like walnut and cherry. The later has lovely reddish tones.

You should really look at some samples.

I think so.

Note that it's spelled "mahogany". "Mahogamy" is, believe it or not, a slang term for a type of sexual preference.
