Wish I knew the area better, and getting frustrated by endless Googling, so can anyone please tell me: other than taking a taxi, is there any direct public transport (bus, minibus) from the Peak Tower to Aberdeen--the town centre, or that little dock not far from Jumbo where the small boats take tourists around for half an hour? Many thanks...

Hong Kong Trail 2 goes to Aberdeen. Trail head starts next to the Peak Cafe. Probably a good 1.5 to 2 hours with some ups and lots of down (of course). Quite a few steps involved. A very nice walk with some excellent views but do expect to work up an appetite. Or, take a more direct walk down to Central then catch a bus. Or take two buses, one to Central and one to Aberdeen.

According to Google Map, the walk from The Peak to Aberdeen takes one hour 5 minutes.
It used to take me about 40 minutes to walk from The Peak to the Star Ferry, so that sounds about right.

I like walking. I like walking from the Peak down through Pinewood Battery and then on to Hatton and Kotewall Roads. My problem this time is a group of six visitors in their 70s who will be at the Peak, who want to go to Aberdeen, who have limited time, and who can't all fit into one taxi. Thus the original question. Based on all this, I guess the only alternative is a bus back down to Central and then another bus to Aberdeen. Thanks everyone.
