Hey, I have a quick question about HK taxes that I wonder if anyone knows. If part of your salary for your work in HK gets paid in a foreign country to a foreign bank account (and taxes are withheld in that country, in my case, the U.S.), are you supposed to report that income when you file your HK taxes?
Thanks for any help!

I am not a tax lawyer or accountant, but if your salary is being paid overseas and then taxed there, and the company is not reporting it as a salary in Hong Kong, then I do not see any reason for you doing so either.
There are plenty of people that know the score though, whom I am sure will add their 2 cents.

In theory, you are supposed to pay HK taxes for any payment received for service rendered in Hong Kong.
In practice, check with your HR. If they are reporting your US payments to HK IRD, then you have to pay tax on that. If not, you don't need to volunteer.
