I just moved here and desperately need a bbq - good quality though seeing as i used to do the bulk of my cooking on them and would like to continue.
i have a balcony, albeit a small one, but does anyone know where i can buy a smallish bbq around here. i live in Aberdeen atm

It really depends what type of barbecue you're looking for.
There's a couple places down in Ap Lei Chau, Horizon Plaza that do a big range but it depends if you want gas/charcoal etc
And also depends on whether your building allows barbecues on the balcony

The place in Ap Lei Chau is called Jervisbay, i think it's either 11th or 12th floor. They do some great stuff and have a few small barbecue brands suitable for a balcony. I think there is also a wine store round the corner that stocks some great New Zealand wines. Happy cooking.

BBQ King has some small ones - SG Ed bought one for his balcony and was very happy

I work for BBQ King so I may sound a little bias here but I should add that our stainless steel grills are at least half the price at comparable quality of what you would find anywhere in town.
Although I would say that if your looking for a beautiful grill for a small balcony and don't want to pay a premium for the Weber brand name I would go with our King Classic 800 full stainless steel grill.

We have not posted the Webers on our site yet but if you would like more information you can send us an email at info@bbqking.hk and I will send you pictures of all the models we will be receiving. (limited supply)
Whatever your choice is I wish you nice grilling cuz its that time of the year!

I would really check with you management, I live in Db, luckily in a garden house, but some of our neighbours, even in low rise with huge balconies were asked to remove their BBQ because of the fire hazard to other residents in the block

Rules are rules I suppose but that's the silliest argument against a BBQ I have ever heard. Sure, there's a fire hazard, but people smoking in bed is a far greater one. Do they ban that as well?

Safe to ask but even if they dont allow it, the King Portable model looks really good for both stealthy BBQ's at home and on the go eh!

Ya if you don't have the luxury of a good sized balcony a portable grill is your only choice.
Here are the top 10 portable grill on the market.

The King Portable would compare to #3 or #4. You can also never go wrong with a Weber eh! They pretty much rule the bbq world.
