Any Mums?

I'm a stay at home Mum and have been thinking of starting a business and matchmaking dating agency is one of my ideas. Any Mums interested in sharing thoughts and plans?

Hi iplants, I helped out a friend who did this a few years ago. The business was just part time as she already had a full time job.

I think you can do a lot of admin/match making work at home, but majority of the time, you have to go out and interview all the applicants who apply as you have to get to know their character and personality before setting them on dates with each other.

Apart from the match making, she did a lot of group dinners during the evenings (about twice a month) so applicants could get to know each other in a more relaxed atmosphere. As the host, you are expected to attend.


I'm not sure how stay at home this would be, but you would actually be spending a bit of time entertaining outside the home.

I just moved from Boston 3 weeks ago, currently a stay-home mom before we get a helper. I am also thinking of starting something here or getting a home-based job. Kamm, does your friend needs some help in his/her business ? Thanks.


I really don't know which industries in HK are recession proof, meaning not too affected by the economy out there right now. Any ideas or suggestions ? Thanks !
