Pleae advise 1st time mom....

hI, I'm a 1st time mom to a 7 month old baby...he just fell today on his face not from a height but low level and cut his upper lip and inside of upper lip....there was a bit of bleeding which stopped as soon as i applied some ice....there was some swelling which has lessened....he seems fine now cried a bit but drank his milk, played a bit and went to sleep....

i wud appreciate if someone could advise me on whether he needs some medication or tetanus or anticeptic....no Paediatrician was available being a sunday and my GP refused to see him saying he is too small and i need to take him to KK hospital....i cleaned the cut with water and whisky....but i dont know what else to do whats the right thing to do...im trying not to panic or be paranoid...my pd will be in tmorrow....she sed it was upto me if i wanted to wait or go to the dr....what shud i do? thanks

These things happen. Kids fall over. Doesn't sound serious.


If you have the regular shots including tetanus there isn't much to worry about unless it's a hard blow to the head.


Take him to the doctor if:

- He pukes.

- His pupils don't react to light (use a flashlight).
