Hello,
We have some visitors (buyers, big boss' son...) from our French head office in HK for the trade fairs until the end of the month, and same as last year they would like us to organize a party before their departure.
Last year we organize an evening junk, they loved it ! Lots of food, drinks and music is what they are looking for, but it has to be in a typical HK setting.
I was thinking about the One-thirtyone in Sai Kung, but am a bit concerned that the food might be 'too' good actually since what they are really interested in is partying... Plus a bit too far if they want to carry on the party in LKF or Wanchai...
Any places with nice rooftop terrace for dinner ? Preferably we would book the whole place to ourselves and with music would be just ideal.
Any suggestion would be most welcome !

Hi,
I recently went to the Pawn Restaurant in Wanchai and notice that they hire the rooftop out for private parties.
Might be worth a try.

There's that relatively new place on Tai Tam reservoir (it's private hire so maybe you could dictate the menu if you don't want it to be all foodie?). Not been personally but sounds lovely and a great setting.
If my internet wasn't being so slow, i'd look up the name...

Thanks I have heard about the place, however cannot find the name or any information on the Internet ! Anyone knows the place ?

for a fun and local experience you can book the tram for a few hours, i think they have connection with catering food too, so whatever you want to serve u can just order.
i had a great birthday party at one of their 'antique' tram (it was cheap to rent, a few hundred for an hour) maybe a two or three hour ride that can show them the whole island side.get some champagne and wine. its a unique experierence and u can always hit LKF afterwards.

have been to Maison 1882 and it is lovely - setting is just gorgeous and food is very good if a little over-priced. also - very similar to One thirty one (have been too) - and far from "action". Why dont you go to something Magnolia - fab food and is in central so can go out after

Azure is lovely but a large group of friends had dinner there New Years Eve and it was diabolical service - dont think they can cater too well for large numbers, also very expensive food - nice venue though. Highly recommend private dining at Magnolia - wonderful food and very affordable - you can take your own alcohol so keeps cost down and they put it in ice box.
Otherwise what about the rooftop above the theatre by the FCC. Dont know what food they do but at least its right in LKF.

We had some clients in town late last year and we booked this big traditional chinese junk. It took us to Disney for the firworks and the bridge towards the airport, It was truely spectacular. our clinets love it a lot. can't remember the name of the company though, I'll check it my my work mate later. The food was fab and the champagne was flowing. It was reasonable price too. will get back with the name
of the comapany later.

Goccia has a nice outdoor terrace upstairs. They've just had a refurb and I hear it's awesome. It's on Wyndham Street, so it's close enough for you to party in LKF afterwards, but the setting isn't exactly "typical HK"...but I think if you're looking for an outdoor terrace, it wouldn't be "typical HK" anyway.
Otherwise, you can try booking the Aqua Luna, that's the huge dark brown wooden junk with the red sails that you see in the harbour all the time. Run by the Aqua Group.
