Hi,
So I'm looking for a serviced apartment in HK, that I'm planning to use for a month or two. I've looked at the section on this site, and a few other lists, and found places like cityloft and 112 Apartments.
Does anyone have any experience with these places? Or experience with any other places like them (in the HKD 10K and under price bracket).
Thanks.

The most comprehensive directory of Hong Kong serviced apartments can be found here http://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/property/serviced.asp

Yeah, that's one of the lists I was using to find places. I was hoping someone would have personal experience with some of them.

Hi, we do live in a very nice serviced apartment, try www.home2home.hk, they have a few buildings at reasonable prices.
Good luck.

Cheers, D888. Unfortunately, they're a bit on the pricey side for me. The only building with a cheap enough rate is in Aberdeen, and I was hoping for something a bit closer to town, so to speak.

Try Sharma. They have a few around the island, well located. While not cheap, they offer reasonable value for money and are well managed and comfortable.

try empire studio, haven't seen them, but prices are low on the net.

"I'm from Singapore and had lived in Shanghai for close to 6 years,
relocated to Hong Kong in October 2009.
I was looking for a temporary accommodation before I decide on a
permanent apartment to rent in HK. Hence, I chose to stay at
Yesinnspace (Mongkok, Anchor Street) from 29 October 2009 to 12
January 2010, having read very good online reviews that they had
decent rooms, convenient location, and very helpful staff.
True to the review, the staff at Yesinnspace have been extremely
helpful and friendly during my extended stay there (when changing
rooms, payment arrangements, requiring extra bed for minimal charges,
forgot keys, etc).
Location is very good. About 6 minutes walk to Mongkok Station, 10
minutes to Mongkok East Station, 6 minutes walk to Olympic Station.
Note that these 3 stations are on different MTR lines, so that will
literally get you to most "must-see", "must-go" locations in HK for
both leisure or work. If you're adventurous, there are also alot of
shuttle bus and KMB bus services which gets you to everywhere.
The rooms are small, but has everything you need. Cosy and
comfortable environment. Quiet at night.
Strongly recommend and book early. Enjoy your stay!

Note some serviced apartments are situated in old buildings so some have no lifts.
the likes of cityloft are semi serviced apartments - i.e. they don't provide towels, amenities, loo paper. although cityloft claims to have a mini kitchen, they will provide an electric heater but no pans. anyways why cook when your room will smell afterwards (no vents).
also note based on experience with one cityloft property, hot showers only last for about 10 minutes or less (specially when two rooms share one small water heater).
there are also properties that are not manned 24/7 so if something goes wrong like the internet going down or the light bulb needs changing, one needs to wait for office hours to make requests... example with cityloft - when the internet went down, not only did you have to wait for office hours but staff also took some time (7 hours exactly) for them to get round to the issue.
for a no frill "serviced" apartment at a low price range, cityloft and the like would be able to suit you.

Thanks for all the advice (though I did post the original message nearly a year ago).
In the end I stayed at Chi Residences in Yau Ma Tei (http://www.chi-residences.com/chi-393-overview/), and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Clean, close to the trains, friendly. Not as cheap as I'd have liked but you can't have everything.
