What removes marker on real leather?

I put a laundry bag on my sofa and the blue marker ink is now printed on my leather sofa. I tried with clean water & furniture polish, but it didn't work.

Does anyone know what can help? If you can give me the name & brand, that would be greatly appreciated! It is a brand new sofa and I would be heart broken if it can't come off.

Benzine should be able to help. But be careful if the leather has a colour coating, as it will destroy the paint layer. If not, just polish the leather afterwards with a good leather polish or pure bees' wax.

I have no idea where to get benzine in HK. Let me know if you find out.

One method is sticky tape (the transparent kind). It often removes the color but will not damage the leather. Needless to say, don't use duct tape or anything that strong.

You can also maybe try a pencil eraser (or rubber) as we used to call it in Australia.

I had my son draw in blue ink all over my new beige leather sofa. if you go to the shoe repairer and ask for a leather cleaner. Use the smallest cotton bud tips and use very sparingly the cleaner as it takes the top layers of the leather off. Then use a leather polish/wax to go over to seal the leather. In a few weeks (with the oils the leather sofa will absorb) the lighter area that you cleaned will go darker and match the rest of the sofa again.
