I am pretty sure generic selection is illegal ... I would also suggest you put this in the pregnancy & fertility selection for more responses.

Most people would be grateful for a healthy baby, regardless of sex.

"I am pretty sure generic selection is illegal "

Actually I am pretty sure gender selection is legal in Hong Kong. Not that I'm an expert, but it's pretty much "just" mechanical selection of the sperm that will produce the desired gender. And it's not 100% guaranteed.

I have just posted on your other thread on this topic. Copied below:

Not sure about specialists in HK but there is a well known theory/method called the Shettles method. Google it to find out some more information. There is a book which describes the methods - Shettles, Landrum B.; David M. Rorvik (2006-10-10). How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby: Fully revised and updated (Rev Upd ed.). Broadway. p. 256

Mixed views from specialists on whether this works (as well as many views on whether it is right).

Hope that this helps

The Shettles method is not really a "sure thing". Many studies have suggested that Shettles and similar methods have no impact on the gender of the baby.

Those methods are by no means proven to increase the odds. You'll find scientific studies pointing either way. If you really want to choose certain gender with any reasonable chance of success, sperm selection or the like is the way to go.
