I didn't think the Sunday Trading Post still existed... surely nobody could be bothered to fax in their ad and not only that - pay money for it! And who would respond to an ad without seeing photos

Particularly when you have this http://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/classifieds/

Over 500 new ads each day (just cleared 200+ live to the site overnight) on Hong Kong's number one classifieds site!

The reason we dont have a black list is because we are not ebay and have not aspirations to that model - therefore people should not be trying to run a 'retail' shop in the free sections of our classifieds - if they are, we eventually find them out and we will ban them.

I think the reason that you are seeing a decline in other classifieds ad options is that its all gone online, primarily on AsiaXPAT - we have enormous ad volumes with photos + the ads go up almost immediately so why bother posting on a notice board in Wellcome or in print... by the time you get that ad up you could probably have the items sold by posting on this site.

As for other online options, a friend recently posted his car for sale with us - he had 15 enquiries and sold it quickly - he posted on other sites and had 0 enquiries.

Even though we dominate the space we have no intention of charging for the vast majority of ad categories - as long as we have enough cash from the banners to buy Molson we are not really fussed about monetizing the classifieds...

Appreciate the reply. Does anyone know a company that will just take away the furniture?

Crossroads charity will come and take your stuff away for you, but you have to wait 6-8 weeks for them to come and pick it up. Otherwise you can rent a van and take all the stuff to their premises in the Gold Coast. I have done this several times and found them to be great.

If you do drive out there, better make an appointment first, as they are closed for lunch hour and closed on Mondays? or Tuesdays? or something like that. You can get their phone number from their website.
