Long service leave?

In Australia the government mandates long service leave for all workers. I also noticed that helpers get the same thing. Is this something across the board or helpers are the exception?

Thanks.

As far as I'm aware, helpers here do not get long service leave, but they do get long service pay.

Sorry, I should say long service pay. Is that common law in HK?

Thanks for that. I guess you mean this PDF:

Seems long service payment is only for 65 years or older, or death/ill health. Thats a bit different to the helpers (unless I misunderstanding the PDF) who get it after 5 years of service. Am I reading this correctly?

Australia is one of the few (only?) countries in the world to have long service leave - for example 2 months extra paid leave after say 10 years of service. Most European countries have longer annual leave periods for longer serving/more senior employees (5 or 6 weeks instead of the 4 weeks you get in Aus) which in effect offsets long service leave. But US and Asian countries generally have shorter annual leave periods and no long service leave entitlements.
