Does anybody know where I can take my Sony Vaio laptop to get fixed in Hong Kong? I know it's probably cheaper to buy a new one, but I want to recover stuff from my hard drive too.

I can help you recover stuff from the HDD (unless that is the broken part). PM if interested.

As for repairing it, you might want to try the Wan Chai Computer Centre.

Most hard drives can be removed from computers and simply plugged into a compatible model.

Guess you didn't backup! Why not invest in a D-Link backup unit that does its thing automatically?
