Kitchen gadgets for preparing baby food

I was wondering what kitchen gadget to buy to prepare baby food. I have a food processor at home but the blender part is broken. I am a bit bewildered by the choice of various types of blenders, plus I see there are some baby food mills in stores too. I'd appreciate any suggestions on which type of gadget is the most practical one, with a view to using it also after we've stopped pureeing baby food.

Thanks

We stopped using the food mill once we stopped making baby food. It is only really useful in this context for separating the shells from peas and corn. Eventually baby will eat those too, so a food processor is the most important thing. As long as it can puree very finely you're ok.

We just have a food processor but it is large and is only really used for baby food (takes up a big space in our cupboard). If you make smoothies as well then you could buy a blender (like the upright ones) and at least you will then use it for something else once your baby passes the blending stage and moves onto the mashing/finely chopped stage.
