i am currently using the peg perego stroller and i find it quite heavy and clumbersome to handle.

i would like to know if anyone can suggest which stroller is light weight, compact and easy to handle.

is the maclaren a good choice? is it so light weight that it will topple over if i hang my diaper bag on the handles?

thanks so much.

There are several MacLarens. Volo is extremely lightweight but has no recline and small wheels. Techno XT is heavier but has more features. You can go to Bumps to Babes and check them out. I would say that the MacLarens are fine but if you walk long distances the small wheels and the lack of stiffness in the frame makes it less than ideal.

As for the diaper bag, it depends a bit. If your kid is in the stroller you are probably fine.

I think a lot of ppl end up with several strollers for various applications. We had a Bugaboo Cameleon for the excellent bassinet and other things, a MacLaren Techno XT for short distances and a Phil & Ted e3 for two kids at a time.

i was looking at the maclaren triumph because the seat can recline. the volo can't.

with the diaper bag, i'm worried that once i take my baby out, the stroller will topple over. i've it happen to people on the street and it can be quite a hassle.

i'll look into the maclarens.

thanks.

Some maclarens are really great actually, even if the fall back when yr bag is on, you need to see a few models to see that there are differences from one to the other, they're not just the simple cane-type thing.

As far as i'm concerned, when it comes to light-weight and compact pushchair, nothing beats the combi strollers!!

Not for infants, as no suspensions and doesn't recline 180degrees, but seeing as you're on your second pushchair, and assuming your child is over 3 months, it could work.

Combi strollers are incredibly compact (folded or unfolded), v. manoeuverable, narrow enough to go through shop with narrow alleys or ordinary MTR turnistle, and most importantly for me at the time I used it, can be folded from a standing position with one hand, while carrying your child in yr other arm, also has a shoulder strap to carry on yr shoulder like a bag. Will stand upright when folded. Allows you to get in and out of taxi easily and fast, without having to bend down to pick up yr stroller from the ground when y're carrying baby + bag + whatnot. Comes w/ a basket under the seat to put things in, although yr things need to be removed before folding.

Handles are not the "cane type" , unlike maclaren, so cannot put a bag on the handle, although i've seen people adding combi hooks to it to do so.

Will topple over unless the child is seated.

Check out the japanese stores like sogo, the bebe dream shops also have them, and probably Wing On, too, actually. Combi has many different types, but for me it was the best!

Beware, tho, if you or yr hubby are very tall, it's not for you! You will have to bend down to hold the handle, and will step on it as you walk.
