Have anyone send their children to local schools in Beijing? I was thinking about international schools before, but I find some information about local schools and IB boarding schools in Beijing. Is it a good idea to have children spending few years in local school? Also, is it common to have children to live in dormitory during weekdays and return home on weekends?
Any comments on listed schools in Beijing?

Beijing No. 55 High School has a good reputation for offering IB and having a more balanced approach (ie, not 100% exam focused) and some other foreign students.
But it will really depend upon the background of the child as to if they can adjust to such a different environment.
My kids go to local pre-school now, and will go to a local primary school in a couple of years.
