hanging curtains

seems like a dumb questions but has anyone out there hung their own curtains?

how do you manage it?

i can't seem to get any screws or nails far enough into the concrete walls or ceiling with a drill or a hammer - the concrete is just too hard.

do they use impact drills to do this?

thanks

Use a hammer drill and a masonary bit and fit rawl plugs in the hole. The screw fits into the rawl plug.

Screws and nails are not designed for concrete.

thanks, now just to find a place to borrow / rent a hammer drill, don't really want to buy one for just a few holes!

If you're passing by Sai Kung you can borrow mine.

If not, you can pick up a cheap one for a few hundred bucks. Won't be much good but more than suitable for drilling a few holes at home.

I guarantee buying one will be cheaper than hiring a contractor in to do the job.
