He loves anything that has wheels so he has a lot of at home and happily playing it all the time. He also likes to look, flip and read books so we got him books too. Balls, not so much but still plays a bit. Lately he loves to pour lego on the floor, picks them up and pour again so he has a bucket of lego. He attends playgroup so has quite a bit of toys there, i usually don't really buy toys that he has in playgroup but he has a few similar ones given by friends and relatives. We went to toys 'r' us yesterday, he got hold of a small macqueen car and sat back on the stroller, whatever we asked, he said "NO" and happy just with one small car, play it till today.
So what else toys are good for 2 years old boy?

Well, mine started to be interested in toy versions of real stuff about 2 [particularly food]. Books, puzzles are okay too, but she is all about singing now [two and a half], but that also really got started just after 2.

Mine is 2.5. He is a real ball lover. We have so many balls at home. Mini golf set, badminton set, table tennis set, bowling ball set, basketball, soccerball... We just bought him a ball pit. Haven't shown him yet but I know he's gonna go crazy with it.
He doesn't like cars though.
Recently he is also into small beads. Different colors of beads and marbles. He puts them into different containers like treasure and can keep him entertained for the whole day. I don't quite understand what's so fascinating about those beads haha! But as far as it's cheap and that he doesn't put these into his mouth I'm fine with it.
Other toys that he likes:
soft toys (he has a whole bed of them and he sometimes talks to a few favourite ones like talking to his friends)
mini kitchen and food, cuttable fruits, veggies, can food etc. We play cooking and picnic time together
doctor kit
playdoh
puzzles
building blocks
painting kit/ crayons
I also have a few montessori toys for him that are quite educational.

Now that playgroup and schools are closing, the games that all of you suggested will have to 'come out'! Lego and puzzles and crayons and ..... are out at the house. It sure messy but fun! Hope the clubhouse toddler room is not closing as well as the pool but when is the good day? rain rain go away.....
thank you all for the suggestions!

You can try out Duple sets for kids under 4. I found the official Lego Store in LCX Fashion Walk. Size about the same as the ones back in the states...about 1600 sq ft. They have a great selection there, I found my Architecture sets and Star Wars sets for my kid's bd.
They also have a website: http://www.brickstime.com
