I called a handyman/moving service to come assess a leaking toilet. The "owner" showed up, looked at the toilet, told me he could fix it, gave me a quote, asked for a $200 deposit for materials and told me he'd be back in 2 days to fix it. I naively gave him a deposit, and he did not show up. When I called, he said he "forgot" and but that he would come next week. I spoke to him again 2 days before the appointment to confirm, and yet again, he hasn't shown up. I understand I probably should not have given him a deposit, lesson learned.
Is there a consumer rights board in Hong Kong where I can report this guy? Thanks in advance!

Do you live in Sai Kung? I have had this happen to me on multiple occasions in Sai Kung - I can't figure it out. Don't they want the business?

Thanks for the responses. Deliran - I'm sorry to hear you've had the same experiences. I live on HK Island, though I had heard service in the NT was better since business was more scarce. I guess I was wrong. :-)
I made contact with the removal company/handyman service again, and they have promised to come out next Monday and that it was all a "misunderstanding". If he fails to show up again, I will try the Consumer Council (thanks funbobby for the link). I saw that they also take complaints for a delay in service, so I may file a complaint anyway, although I don't really have any documentation since everything was spoken-word.
