I wonder if you may be able to help.

I am trying to do some research for a new business venture to be aimed specifically at the expat community.

Could you please make suggestions as to where I can find useful online information (other than asiaxpat, of course!)

First of all, I would advise against posting your email address in a discussion forum. It's a good way to get spam.

Secondly, you could perhaps team up with Ed to put an ad for volunteers up on the site. This could lead to interviews or simply an online questionnaire. A prize drawing normally helps.

What I am really looking for is data about the expat community: its size, its ethnic makeup, its purchasing power; the expat market. Where can I find this information?

For pure demographic info, you can start with the Wikipedia demographics article ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Hong_Kong ) and work from the sources quoted there.
