I got married in Bali last month, and it was amazing - great choice :) Our wedding planner was Karen Quarello-Morgan, she runs Cher Ange (www.cherange.com).

My make up artist did a wonderful job, both with my hair & make up - his name is Margi from Margi & Uniek Spa.

Any more recommendations, sned me a pm.

Yes, I am interested to know if they are legally recognised in HK? Does it have to be registered in HK or something? Thanks for the thoughts.

Being an Indonesian, I would suggest you to register your marriage in your country of origin after the wedding in Bali as an Indonesian marriage is not internationally recognized. I got married in Jakarta but we also registered our civil marriage in Singapore as we lived there at the time we got married.

After you get married, make sure you have a legal translation of the wedding licence. Then when back in your home country, you must register it with with the correct authority (This is the part Mick Jagger didn't do!) Then it is legally binding.

A wedding needs to comply with civil requirements as well as religious ones. A catholic wedding for example includes both, a morman wedding in a temple does not.

A Balinese wedding is not recognized as a legal weddingl. My friends a couple of years ago had two ceremonies, the Bali wedding they had always dreamed of and a simple registry wedding in Hong Kong a few weeks later. This meant that those of us who could not attend Bali could come to the dinner held after the HK ceremony.

from my thorough research for my private event, I found Villa Atas Ombak is the best venue for special event in Bali. It's right on the beach, in Kerobokkan very close to Seminyak and right next to Bali Sani suites, a 3-4 star beach front hotel, ideal for your guests to stay if you want them to party til they drop as it's only a stone throw away from the venue. If you choose somewhere in the middle of nowhere, most likely the guests will have problem finding the place. Bali Sani Suites are nice hotels with standard room start from $75 and more for higher lever. So there's room for everyone's budget.

Catering at Kafe Warisan is the most popular and reasonably priced. My experience said you will at least need to book 9 months ahead if the wedding during summer or xmas/new year seasons.

All the best..
