Do I need a work visa?

Hi! I was born in HK but immigrated to the US during my teens. I have since become an US citizen.

Recently, my company has approached me to see if I will be interested in moving back to HK (as an expat or actual relocation - I haven't decided yet) for my job. It will be an internal transfer (in the eyes of my company). My role will not change. It's merely a change in location to do the same job.

My question is... 1) do I even need to apply for a work visa in this case since I was born in HK... does that not make me a HK citizen still? 2) If I do need a visa, what does my company/HK government need from me to get the process going? Visa application? Credentials? Others?

Any advice from anyone will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Generally, any person other than those who have the right of abode or right to land in Hong Kong must obtain a visa before coming to Hong Kong for the purpose of taking up employment, training, investment or residence.
