can anyone recommend any good hiking gps watches or systems for hiking in hong kong?

It's HK. You don't need GPS, if you get lost, keep walking and you find yourself easily enough.
Seriously, the country park maps are all you need in HK.
However, if you really want a GPS, try RC outfitters in Mong Kok. Shop number is 2390 0020. He also has a new shop in Causeway Bay if that is closer. Call them for an address. I personally think Ryan is the best outdoors shop in HK and will take the time to talk you through it.

Agreed with Ringo23. It is rather hard to get lost, especially no the Island.

GPS watches also give you distance covered, speed of movement and retrace your steps facilities. Some have heart rate monitors as well very useful tool for outdoor activities
