You subscribe month to month, and you can pick a HK number for incoming faxes. They used to have a trial subscription - a month or two for free.
Sending is accomplished using a program downloaded from their website (Windows and Mac versions available). You can also use a web-based interface.
Received faxes are notified by email to your nominated account.
I am a low volume fax user, and use this for my personal affairs. I do not know how it does in more demanding situations.
